I just started revisiting my NaNoWriMo novel. Are any other NaNo participants working on a second draft yet?

Me, Me. In fact...well...I am about 10 pages away from finishing up my second draft. Of course, it is still a work in progress, and a bit on the short side, but I'm really, really pleased with it.

My goal is to have it to an editor that I know (not affiliated with a publishing house, but a professional editor nonetheless) by our trip to Tuscany in June. I'd like to start having it queried out by the end of the year.

I'm so excited!

Awesome!

I just finished reading through my entire novel for the first time. After NaNo I decided to wait a full month before reading it again so it would be "fresh" to me when I came back to it.

I was amazed at just how much writer's amnesia I developed in just a month away from the manuscript. When I re-read, I was sometimes impressed, sometimes horrified by what I had written... Sometimes I was both impressed and horrified at the same time .

My goal is to be completely finished with this book when NaNo 2008 rolls around.

I know you can do it, Verna!

I finished the second draft tonight. LIke you, I was pleasantly surprised at some places, and horrified in others!

I am thinking I may end up being ahead of my June goal at this rate. We'll see what the third edit brings!

I'm still a bit short for a novel, and know that this may hurt me during the query stage. So, we'll see what happens.

I've been really wanting to get back to it, but back to my 2006 NaNoWriMo. It is the book I want to write. But, dh keeps telling me to write something else first, get over the hump, and then go for the magnus opus.

But, I'm really wanting to dust 'er off and get back to it. Glad to see so many others inspired as well!
