Hi,

I have just had my first magazine article published, which I am very proud of! I wondered how you keep your portfolios. I mean, should I keep the whole magazine or should I cut the article out? I just wondered what you did.

Thanks,
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
Congrats on publishing. First off I would scan your story so you can email it as a pdf when you are querying for more work. Once you have a few clips assembled I would put together an online portfolio/website. There are loads of different styles out there and if you google freelance writer you'll find examples.
For hard copies I clip them from the magazine and put them in those plastic covers. I have a binder full now - but there is not much call for hard copy clips - so I'm mainly keeping them for myself.

Hi,

The idea of scanning them is a really good one - thanks.
