Hi all,

I applied to be an about.com guide and went through prep, but didn't get the position. The subject was "Work at Home Moms". Does anyone have advice for the best place to use the articles I wrote?

If the articles are written with a web-surfing audience in mind, I might suggest applying at Suite 101. They are certainly making moves to compete with about.com. Currently the pay isn't competitive to about.com, but I suspect that may improve steadily.

If you wish to apply, visit the S101 thread and we (the 8 or so of us who write there) may be able to give you some pointers on how to structure the articles for the application process.

Good luck.

Dittos what evies said. Also - if there are some "how-to" step-by-step style articles DemandStudios.com will pay $15.

Some could be reworked and submitted to print mags.

Sorry you didn't get it. I heard a lady who didn't pass prep and sold all her articles to various sources and got over $1,000 for them...so at least your efforts aren't worthless. :-)
