Never posted in this forum before, but wondered if there were any other romance writers out there. I don't write consistently because of my little ones running around, but have been trying to get back into a routine and making it a priority. My dh is very supportive of this endeavor, but is not much help since he works such long hours and is in grad school. Anybody?

I'm an aspiring romance writer. I'm taking a course through my local community college. However, in the meantime I've gotten so busy with other freelance writing gigs in addition to working almost full-time and taking care of the house and family, that it's hard to carve out time to work on my romance writing project.

Are you in the process of writing a novel? Have you been published before? Do you have a publisher or series in mind? I like the Silhouette Special Edition series and Silhouette Desire series myself.

LOL - sooooo not published. I have one "finished" manuscript, but it isn't worthy to send anywhere. I'm currently working on a (ok, I get the terms wrong a lot) a full length, single title. What I think that's supposed to mean is that it isn't series (like silhoutte), but what I really aspire is that it would be part of a trillogy. Probably because I have bitten off more than I can chew plot - wise. I am part of a group that used to be affiliated with RWA, but are now independent. Have lots of support there, but can't make very many meetings. What kind of classes are you taking?

That's great that you have a local support group. I haven't joined RWA yet. I may just get an affiliate membership (I can register as one for like $10 a year or something because I'm a librarian) for now, so I can at least get the newsletter.

I'm taking a class through ed2go.com, though I signed up through a local community college. It's taught by Lori Wilde who is a published author. I'm not getting too much more information in the class itself than what I've read in books on how to write a romance novel. However, it's helpful to get feedback from the instructor.

I am also a romance writer ---- but I write more YA/Romantic Comedy. I have several started projects but none complete. I am a member of RWA, the local chapter and two special interest online loops.

Right now my plate is too full for fiction (I am also writing several non-fiction projects which I am rep for with a NYC agent), but I suspect that will change once my daughter is in some sort of preschool setting so I can get back to my first love fiction.
