I am hoping for some suggestions.

We previously lived with my step-MIL for the last 2 years, and before that we had a fake tree (as did step-MIL). When we moved in with her, we gave it away, as well - it was good but i had such a hard time "fixing holes".

I would love a real Christmas tree... but problem is - my hubby can not be around pine.

So, before i go and drop $25 on some cheap fake tree, is there any natural sources of non-pine trees? Or, maybe a non-tradition tree to use that i cant for the life of me, think of?

Thanks for the suggestions in advance!

Does it have to be a tall one? I just got a rosemary plant in the shape of a Christmas tree, but it's only about 2' tall. My DH doesn't react to that in the same way he would a pine tree, and we can use it to cook with.

Does your dh react to redwood or cedar? The nursery I used to work in sold both redwoods and cedars as living christmas trees in addition to the more typical Douglas firs and noble pines.

Honestly, based on where you are, eastern red cedar should be REALLY easy to find in someone's wooded yard, AND it is considered to be overabundant.
