Here's a great post over at Rhythm of the Home for making Waldorf work without a huge budget: http://rhythmofthehomeblog.com/01/waldorf-can-be-budget-friendly/

I have to admit that as I turned toward Montessori and Waldorf that I found many objects in our home were already suited to this way of being--handcrafts made from soft wool from days gone by, a silk scarf that came free with an order from Dharma Trading, items tailored toward smaller hands and more peaceful play.  The biggest thing children need is never any thing at all.  Calming, predictable energy in a loving home.

I also love this post: http://wildculturecafe.blogspot.com/2008/06/waldorf-on-shoestring-early-years.html  I like to buy things & I have to remind myself that our kids do not need any new toys or anything.  We do just fine w/ all that we have & it's less for me to clean up :p

hi ladies,

I write a blog about living a 'waldorf lifestyle' while on a budget (or, if you're like us....with basically "no budget'-- we can't really afford any extras; esp. in the wintertime!)

Someone so kindly linked to my post on rhythm of the home above...thank you so much:)

I also wanted to add that looking through your local FREECYCLE and CRAIGSLIST is worthwhile:)

Best of luck <3
