Question Are parents ever allowed to stay in EC?

Do Waldorf schools ever let a parent stay for the first few days (or 1 day, or an hour of the first few days) to help their child transition and get used to the classroom and teacher, before being dropped off?

Waldorf schools can vary. I'd call the school in question, explain your concerns, and see if they are willing to work with you.

Though my daughter's EC teacher will allow parents to stay if need be, it's been her experience that children have a more difficult time with transitioning if their parents stay. That may not be everyone's experience, but it has definitely been my experience. My daughter rides the bus with her brother almost every day, but the few times I have dropped the kids off at school, she is definitely more reluctant to leave me and join her friends. Her class rhythm starts them outside with the assistant for the first half hour, the assistant and the teacher the second half hour. The classroom is right next to the door to the outside, and if she has a hard time letting me leave, her teacher will out to the hallway and ask her if she wants to help her with whatever the task the teacher is preparing-usually snack. She is always willing to help her beloved teacher!
