No, it isn't that Steiner is exactly like Findhorn. Just that the material coming from Findhorn on gnomes and elementals has some similarity to Steiner's material on gnomes and elementals.

But the Findhorn folks did use some Biodynamic preps in their compost

I'm personally not enthused about Findhorn.

It has been my experience that very little is taught to the kids. There may be stories about gnomes or fairies but children are not told they exist or do not exist. Our Kindergarten had little red capped felted gnomes to play with and later there were stories about gnomes helping in the garden, fire fairies helpig to light the candles and bubble fairies to help with washing the dishes. Now in 2nd grade, my youngest loves to build houses for the fairies. I think at this point my child believes in them. My older child in 4th grade used to believe in them and dragons and gnomes but no longer does. There appeared to be no drama in the transition and I have never been asked if they exist or not. My eldest went from wanting to be a Draconoligist (studies dragons) to wanting to be an electrical engineer.
