Just thought I'd introduce myself here. I am mum to a 3 and a bit year old. We live in ******* Scotland and attend the parent and child group at the ******* Steiner School. I am Canadian, my husband is American and our daughter was born here.
My daughter may be starting kindergarten in August. We actually have our interview with the kinde teacher tomorrow and I am soooo nervous, I don't know why!
We came to Waldorf education through my cousin that attended a school in California. After spending many months researching the whole thing we decided it was right for us. Much of the philosophy was instinctually part of how we raise our daughter already. We have loved the parent and toddler group but I am on the fence at the moment over how far we will take my daughter through the school.
The ******* school is a very small and young school which needs some work but my daughter adores going there and when I think of mainstream education, I get very worried!
Anyways, we have lots to think about.
ive seen and heard that sooo cool!! does your school have a website?and that really isnt a problem for me when it comes to applying at a waldorf school, the only thing that would be a problem would be salary when it comes to that, due to being a serious art collector(low brow mostly) and a collector of antique books(ie english literature, occult, etc.) as well as a car nut theres alot of money in volved not to mention finding a place to live(ie a house since i always wanted to own my own, ).
i know that i wont be starting a family (seriously dating/married/ then having kidsO until i gain at least one mark ryden orginal, a few rare aleister crowley first editions and a couple of my dream cars
The two Waldorf schools in Seattle:
Both try to have a mixed a faculty.
Supra, you will never make a lot of money as a Waldorf teacher. You might want to check out Waldorf charter schools. You will make more money at a public school than at a private school.
