Because I have! Oh well, I'm 34 weeks along and probably won't go more than 2-3 more, so I surely won't gain much more than 40 altogether, right? :

Hi there, I'm usually on the Sept board but thought I'd check out the August one since I"m due Sept9th and my last baby was 12 days early.

I'll make you feel better, because I'm only at 29 weeks and I've gained 35 pounds... scary! Oh well, last time I gained 35 pounds total and lost it all just as fast.

If you believe our scale at home, I've gained 36 lbs.
If you believe the midwife's scale, I've gained 30 lbs.

I'm fine w/it either way...I gained 40+ lbs with DD but lost it all eventually.

(if it makes you feel better, just think "I'm sure it's water weight."

I'm 35 weeks and have gained 45 lbs so far. I always gain 50-55, so I figure I'm right on track. It is a b*tch to lose later, though!

I just posted about this on the "I'm pregnant" board in case you want to see lots of other responses on this subject.

So far I have gained about 31 lbs and I'm week 33. I don't know where it's going...maybe my butt and belly.

I gained 35 pounds last time and lost it all by nine months after. Babies do a great job of sucking it off later, right?

That's why we don't own a scale. I only wish I had stuck to not looking at the scale this time when they weigh me at check-ups. It sure saved me a lot of stress last time (had no idea how much I had gained until I was discharged and got copies of the discharge papers--kind of went : , but by then who cares!).
