Anyone else a fan of Absolutely Fabulous and watching the new episodes on Oxygen? Saffron (Edie's daughter) had a homebirth in the most recent episode. It wasn't exactly the ideal birth situation, of course, since it was AbFab, but she basically had an unassisted birth!

I'm hoping they'll show her nursing a lot and stuff. I think Saffie would extended nurse.

Anyone else see it?

Well, of course, just to piss off her mom if nothing else, I'm sure.

No, I hadn't seen it. I didn't even know there were new episodes. I always hated it, to tell you the truth, but my husband was a fan. I kept hoping those two women would get hit by a car. Maybe I'll check it out, though.

Yes, definitely to piss her mother off. I always liked Edie more than Patsy. They seem a bit sadder in the new episodes, since they're older and they're still in their same old rut.

I love AbFab and wish we still had cable/satellite!

I would have loved to see that...

I miss watching AbFab. No cable.

I remember the episode of Saffron's birth - Patsy was begging for drugs! LOL!

I absolutely love AbFab! I haven't seen any new episodes and I really miss watching the old ones.

It's a crack up to see those two do ordinary things. Like the grocery shopping. Oh...every time someone talks about using the patch to quit smoking, I see Patsy, smoking away, covered in patches. Hilarious!

I loved it when they went to some little French village for holiday. Watching them play ping-pong...and the wine tasting!

Ha! Too punny.

Back on topic: I never knew there were new episodes! I love AbFab. I have an aunt who reminds me of Patsy (although she thinks she's Edie) -- drinking and smoking and wenching (or would that be menching).

I happened to notice that they had new shows because my Tivo recorded one of the old epsiodes and it had an ad for the new shows. My Tivo loves me.

Haven't seen it in ages but I know it came out in an episode ages ago that Saffo had been breastfed... some by Edina and then a commune was mentioned and Saffy flipped out!

I LOOOOOOVE AbFab! I drank way too much Stoli in art school in homage to them

How cool that there are new episodes! Maybe I should get a TV now?

wasn't there talk at some point that rosanne barr had purchased the american rights and was going to produce a "local" version of AbFab? i thought it was nuts myself: can you imagine how a country wigging out over a nipple would react to upended bottles of Stoli and - gasp! - smoking marijuana in primetime?

anyway, nice to hear they're back at it!

There was a show with Jean Smart and Mary McDonnel a while back that I think was trying to be an American version of AbFab. It wasn't very good. American versions of British sitcoms usually fall very short (AbFab, Men Behaving Badly, Coupling... the list goes on).

I just watched the first episode where we get a ample of Saffy's parenting. She was sitting in the kitchen with the baby in a moses basket across the room, wialing, because it was "sleeping time," and the baby had to "learn to settle herself." At least she pumped breastmilk to leave when she let her mom babysit.

Oh well. I was so hoping Saffy would be an attached mom.
