I don't like the new Burger King commercial where the Burger King breaks into what seems like a McDonald's office to steal the recipe for their Sausage Egg McMuffin.

It's a horrible commercial.

It reminds me of how much I like the McDonald's egg mcmuffin and what competitor wants to remind consumers of its rival's products? Why would you want to make a commercial about how you stole a competitor's great recipe? It makes the rival look good. Two, the Burger King besides being creepy in his face mask, is now advocating theft. I know the commercial is meant to be tongue in cheek and maybe edgy, but it didn't come across like that to me at all.

Come to think of it, I don't care for a lot of the recent Burger King commercials including the one where the Burger King is made to look like a patient from a mental hospital.

Normal is just a setting on your dryer.

There's a home security system ad on right now where very bad actors act out a scene once without the system and once with.

1. Man calls home and tells wife he has to work late again. Without the system wife freaks out and starts yelling. With it she's all oh that's ok dear we have the security system.

2. family surrounded by cop cars and their house has been broken into and wife is yelling at the DH "I told you we should have gotten a security system!" The next one it's the neighbor's house that got burglarized.

Cab't remember the 3rd, but the acting is SO BAD!

I absolutely HATE the stupid geico caveman commercials. Seriously. I think you guys have gotten all the use out of that possible! The first one (what was that, like 5 years ago now?) with the cavemen (who actually looked like caveman) seeing the commercial and getting mad, that was cute. All this crap following is so obnoxious! UGH!

I also loved the asthma med ad (forget which one) which says it increases the chance of asthma related death. What the he**?

I'm also tired of hearing about

I just remembered this ad on a few months ago... It was for some pregnancy test. But DH and I thought it was so hilarious, because in it the test was actually getting peed on, but it was like a perfect jetstream of pee aimed in the exact right area... we laughed til we cried, because they were all serious about it

I'm annoyed by the new prescription that claims to be refined fish oil. The benefits are basically the same as taking fish oil (supposedly), but it has potential side effects and such. I think the product annoys me more than the commercial though. Leave it to our pharmaceutical companies to figure out how to patent something you can get from just eating some fish or taking a fish oil pill. Ugh.

there is a Folgers commercial that really rubs me the wrong way.

Dad and daughter are sharing a cup of morning coffee and he is playfully scolding her for being out so late. She tells him that he won't have to worry any more and shows him her new engagement ring. He makes some crack about how he already knew since her fiance asked him permission the week before

is that commercial actually sweet and touching to people? *gag*

I hate the "teach your baby to read" commercial. I don't see the need to teach a baby to read to begin with and my dd is dyslexic and it really bummed her out when she saw it. "Mom, why is it easy for these babies to read and so hard for me?" Ugh!

And the Carl's Jr. one about the salads being sexy. The girl looks like she could be advertising for an escort service the ways she lays on the bed and eats that strawberry. So inappropriate.

I agree with most of what has been posted and would like to add another. Reebok has these new shoes that are supposed to work your muscles in a way that makes your butt look better (yeah, right), but the commercials are clearly not for women. All you see are close-ups of lots of scantily clad rear ends shimmying across the screen. Really does nothing for me, but perhaps they're betting on all the men encouraging their SO's to go right out and buy these shoes? :Puke

Agree with everything posted so far (except the Progressive girl, Flo - I love her!)....

The latest Source yogurt (woman singing the flavours surrounded by men in tuxedos) commercial is so annoying. It's one I actually change the channel for....

We should start a thread of commercials we love! I'd better not... my threads die a swift death.

Oh gosh I just thought of a series of commercials that are even worse!!! The Axe shampoo commercials "get some hair action" where the women are fondling the mens' hair. Gross. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAZ4q_Jwm-M

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the complete series of Parmigiano Reggiano ads from Italian TV. My whole family studies Italian, DD loves working on it, and my mom showed these ads to her last Christmas or so... she wanted to watch them all the time. SOOOO.... cheesy.

OMG those commercials are so ridiculous. Dh and I were actually laughing about them yesterday, about how they try to be so terrifying. I mean, you never see a commercial with a couple of jocks watching the game and the bad guy breaks in thru the door and the dudes run in terror to the phone and call the security company. LOL the thought of that commercial had us laughing for quite some time.

They might be cheesy, but I must say that I was slightly entertained. I can see how after seeing them several times I would ready for their run to be up though!

I'm with ya'll on the AXE commercials- the new one that is for their scent changing body spray shows a guy changing clothing and hair styles throughout his date, and the tag line is "Because women get bored easily".

If that isn't the most insulting thing Ive ever seen, I'm not sure what is....

Not only does the inside look gross (and the thought makes my pregnant self GAG) but when they pull them apart I'm reminded of, uh, male anatomy and it's disturbing.

"Ask Gary" Can't stand these commercials. They occasionally switch out the actors, but the $5 budget, terrible grammar and pronunciation, and general awfulness never change.

OK, I was laying on my couch last night, when an image on the TV (That was on but I was not watching it) came on and out of the corner of my eye it caught my attention. So i stopped reading my very good book and looked over. A very small child, prolly about 2 ish, was standing alone in what looked like maybe an airport, and their were people walking all around him. (Im starting to shake just typing this) He looked a bit confused at first, but that suddenly turned to fright and he began to cry. Then a narratory came on, saying something to the effect of, If this is how your child feels when he cant find you for a minute, imagine what he'll feel like if he never see you again." It was a "quit smoking "commercial.

Now, I get the message, I GET IT. But DAMN IT if that image didnt distrub the HELL outta me! I had a hard time going to sleep. And dont even get me started on the true horror the poor little boy was ACTUALLY feeling at the time of shooting that commercial. Two year olds cant act people. SOmeone has to MAKE them cry like that and then capture it on tape. SO was he REALLY fearing loosing his mommy or daddy in that moment? Makes me want to :Puke

So anyway, after all that I immediatly thought of this thread and that I should post about it, just incase anyone else sees it, they can kinda be prepared for it. Its a commercial done by the New York State quit smoking campaign, and it was on the Yankees entertainment station channel. So I doubt anyone will see it unless they live in NY state.

Not sure if this is a national commercial but it is for supposedly eco cleaning products. The theme for the commercial is that it's time for a change for the better and it shows natural healthy looking people packing up their old toxic cleansers and carting them off in their trucks or whatever.

This pisses me off so bad because first of all if you really want to be eco you don't even need to buy cleaning products, right? You can use vinegar/bs/whatever.

Secondly, what the hell are they going to do with the toxic box of cr@p they just packed up to get rid of? I mean, you're going to do the planet more of a favor by using the stuff then just dumping it in the landfill. Come on now.

Vagisil Wash

In the commercial the woman says she learned that hard way that not all washes take care of feminine odor while she's backing away from a couple of women.

Is she smelling herself that clearly? Did the women tell her that her vagina stinks? Seriously. It makes no sense and wierds me out that people buy a separate wash for their girly bits.
