No, but if you were on my FB you would have seen that around 10 PM last night all I wanted in the world was some of Ed's risotto and corn poppers. Alas, there was none to be found. The babies were sad.

That's so wrong, Annette.
Poor babies.

I must not have a refined palate because I found Kevin's 63 degree egg with tapioca really off-putting. I don't like runny eggs on tapioca. It sounded like food for a toddler or someone recovering from an illness.

Normal is just a setting on your dryer.

Maybe they'll bring Kelly back since Angelo is sick? Maybe?

Bravo has a link on its site which shows Michael Voltaggio making the winning banana fritters.

I'll be happy if either Tiffany or Kelly come back, but please no Kenny or Alex.

No comments about last night?!

I think the results were fair based on the final competition. There is no way Angelo could be in the running if Hung did the shopping and the prep and likely most of of the menu planning (as much as they tried to look like Angelo was involved from his sick bed).

Ed's looked good but looking at his and Kevin's desserts head to head Kevin had to take it (although Ed's looked really good to me as a home-cooked dessert!)

Still can't believe Tiffany wasn't there

I think Kevin did the best last night. Actually a few weeks ago he mentioned something about cooking for one of the judges at Bocuse d'Or (sp?) and it was then that I thought he might have it, due to the fact that he is a good competition cook. Personally, I think Ed shot himself in the foot with the dessert.
I'm sure Angelo was sick, but he seemed awfully pulled together on the camera for the "sick in bed" shots..... I agree, Hung did an awersome job cooking for Angelo.

I think Kevin was a good choice, at least based on the finale. I so wanted to try that dessert. It looked yummy and it was beautiful.

I think the finale results were fair. I thought it was funny that Ed said something to the effect that he wouldn't be one of those contestants who listen to their sous chef and then lose becuase of it. But a big reason he may have lost was because he let his sous chef completely handle the dessert.

I couldn't believe that I was rooting for Angelo! I spent the whole season detesting him!
And Ed was getting on my nerves big time. He was being so rude to Ilan!
Tom's blog laid it out pretty clearly that Kevin was the clear winner of 3/4 of the courses. I'm surprised they never mentioned that Ilan was totally left to create and execute that desert. It sounded like Ed said "I left the desert course up to Ilan". I thought that was a bad move. And salty whipped cream doesn't sound great to me, even though I love salty and sweet combos!

Interesting perspective from Tom's blog:

"If we just wanted to ascertain who was the best chef, we could simply go to their restaurants. That’s not the goal here. The goal is to determine a winner to a game, and we’re playing according to the rules of the game at hand. In this game, one dish will send you home...You might have an off day – oh, say, perhaps, that your mussels freeze and they were a key component in the dish you’d planned –- and you go home. That’s the game."
