i wish arthur would return and kick george's butt i mean that in the nicest way, really... lol I just really don't like the george character... he doesn't fit at all. i don't like how they met, i don't think ruth loves him, the kids sure don't like him... i wish they'd get rid of him somehow. his scenes take up too much time and i'd rather see more about what's going on with the fisher children or ruth with sarah and bettina

i LOVE LOVE LOVE kathy bates!! she and lili taylor are just wonderful, i don't think i'd watch the show anymore if they left for good.

Last night's episode was called "Coming and Going." Here's a recap...

Claire and Edie are over!

Ruth and George are SO over!

Rico and Vanessa are over!

Rico and Infinity are over! (unless he buys her a new car?)

Brenda and Joe are SO over!

Keith and Celeste are over!

David needs help.

So much happened last night, I thought. No suprises, but it moved right along. I was cheering when Vanessa and her sister went after Infinity...I was cheering when Joe went off on Brenda about her "psycho-babble"...I was cheering when Ruth took off. YAY!

I want to know why the poop deliveries have stopped.

I mean, just bc they went to visit the son - it didn't seem like it resolved anything. Why would he stop sending it? I feel like the writers dropped this part only bc they made their point about George, but if I were his son, I'd still be sending him $h!t!

It seems like the episodes are getting better and better. I loved last night and Keith's response to Celete's sexual guidelines "Well, that makes one of us" was great!
Loved the talk between Claire and David about her experience. They need more scenes together.
Loved the train scene. Maya's so cute!!
I used to hate Brenda, but they really sold me on a Brenda/Nate relationship last night. I'm a sucker for 2-year olds and trains though.

Rainsmom-thanks for posting the link for the quiz. Dh and I had fun taking it last night. He went first and got a 56% (or something like that), and I got a 71%. Not too great, but I beat dh! That never happens.

Youre welcome! I guessed on all those ones that asked how a person died (in the begining of the show) and always happened to guess right.

Its a great website......I like being able to see the music credits cos they are always playing great music.

So what did you think about "Grinding the Corn"?

I thought that was a very good episode. Lots of light moments--I loved it when they caught those guys breaking into the house that were trying to steal that comic book.

The end when the horse died was very sad, though.

Did I miss what happened to the horse? That seemed so incongruent.

This episode was OK - I agree, light-hearted.

I was wondering if they would ever get back to Nate's brain tumor/hallucinations. None of the dead folk have been talking to anyone this season!

I think the horse was a metaphor for Ruths marriage/George.

Glad Claire found someone......looks like Edie really turns on her next week.

Even though Brenda is in a crisis......I was glad to see Nate come thru the door. I hope she tells him.....otherwise he could be in for a long ride (and not the good kind)

Billy teaching Claire.........hmmmmmm

Doesnt look like Vanessa is going to take Rico back anytime soon.

David and Keith......that was weird. I hope they arent going back to their old habits of non communication.

I thought this was one of the most boring episodes to date. Loved the guys catching the "thieves", loved Ruth sticking up for herself at the motel...otherwise....*yawn*.

Nate and Brenda...no! No! No! Ugh!

Billy is back...yay!

I enjoyed seeing Billy again. He always brightens my episodes. If you're going to have F'ed up characters, might as well go hardcore.

The little Partridge Family reunion between Nate, Brenda and Maia at the end of the episode makes me think that huge ugliness is headed their way. Not that that is a newsflash or anything. It just seemed a little to happy-sappy-OK for me. Sweet like saccharine, but with that funny aftertaste, ya know?

So, was Ruth beating a dead horse? :LOL

Good old George. When the going gets tough, the tough move on to greener pastures apparently. Hmmm, there's that horse thing again.

And Nathaniel superhero?

I bet there were a zillion google hits for 'grinding the corn' after that episode.

The tons of sex doesn't really bug me, it's all the casual drug usage that freaks me out.

Can someone tell me who Billy is/what his story is?

I just started watching this season (don't have HBO, but my mom tapes it for me). I'd love to go back and watch the other seasons, but who knows when I'll have time for that!

Billy is Brendas brother and only sibling. THeir parents were both therapists.......so they were severely analysed. Billy is BiPolar and tends to go off his meds occasionally, which is when he has violent psychotic episodes. They have an unusual relationship. She was essentially his mother & caretaker while growing up and in adulthood. THey used to read a book called Nathaniel and Isabel.......and so related with the characters in the books (2 children) that they had the others character name tatooted on their backs. In a psychotic episode, Billy removed his tatoo with a knife and then tried to remove Brendas the same way. She had him committed after this. When he got out of the hospital, Brenda was in transition after breaking up with Nate and living with her mother, whom she wasnt getting along with. She went to stay with Billy for a few days. During this time he tried to kiss her and he told her he was/has been in love with her......and wanted to consumate the relationship. They have been estranged ever since. Hes had strange episodes with Claire and Nate.....Claire is really attracted to psychotic men......or has been in the past.

Forgot to add he is an artist and alumni of the art school where Claire is at. He had an affair while there with her previous teacher.....Olivier......who is now having an affair with Billy & Brendas mother.
