I can't stand Dora. DD loves her though.

Am I the only one is upset by the way everyone treats Swiper? They're so mean to him. All he needs is some love and attention. :LOL

We like Dora & I wish so much of her suff to buy was more unisex

DS LOVES to dance to the "WE did it" song :LOL

DH sings the I'm the MAP song LOUDLY also

Yep... toddlers like repetition & the louder gets their attention.
I thinks it's cute...
I want a Dora or Diego shirt

I am literally laughing out loud. :LOL

DS started talking a month ago and for the past two weeks, the first thing he says in the morning is "Map" or "Backpack."

It's a little annoying, but mostly cute. And I think it's the cutest when he does Swiper's "Oh Mee-aan."

My biggest peeve is when she asks a question ("what was your favorite part?") and waits SO long for an answer -- it's like a solid 2-3 seconds of frozen time. If kids do actually answer, how long do they take?

Anyway, thanks for the laughs...

"We're fairly certain that Dora was raised in a steel foundry or some other kind of loud factory. She had to be, since she has to yell all the time to make sure that people can hear her."

:LOL :LOL :LOL :LOL :LOL :LOL

she does yell a lot!

Ok...Has anyone besides me noticed that Boots seems to be ex-mafia or something?? Listen to the way he just pops up and yells at you..."Say backpack...SAY BACKPACK!" As if the following line was..."Before you're sleeping with the fishes!!" I like Boots...he's my kind of monkey...forceful yet...inconspicuously cute.

I think it's cute that so many kids know my dd's name before they can say much else!

Interestingly, my Dora (although we don't call her that but will if she wants us to) isn't that into the show. But whenever we see any Dora the Explorer toys or Dora/Boots plastered on some clothing dd FREAKS out. She gets so excited that you'd think she was looking at 100 boobs

I assume everything is repeated a gazillion times because toddlers like repetition.
My kids love Dora, and I don't mind it either way, but this song gets stuck in my head!! They love the pirate adventure, so I try to leave the room before this song comes on, otherwise, I'm doomed to repeat it the entire rest of the day.

.. Like now, since I read this thread! Ugh!

Hey has anyone seen the newest one?

Doras mom has twins!

And it looks like she had them at home!

I only caught part of it, I'll have to watch it again...which I am sure wont be a problem since they repeat the same episodes over and over and over and over and over.......

Backpack is a girl???????? Prove it! He seems all man to me.

Gabe has been having Swiper nightmares recently. He still insists on watching it though! Last night, Swiper was breaking in our house, but the blue and red men stopped him

I can't read that sentence without the words playing to the music in my head either!

And what about diego? Have you ever noticed how long he slides down that zip line in the opening sequence? Boy, that thing must go like 10 miles!

Well so far all Dora has taught my DD is the YELL and to steal. She sneaks into the kitchen, makes me pretend not to notice her, then grabs something from the fridge (or a tin or something) and races of giggling.
*sigh*

nothing more to say I guess :

I should really unsub from this thread, as everytime someone posts to it, it goes to my email, and then I have that song in my head for the rest of the day!!

I LOVE Dora! Maybe more than my girls. I catch myself watching it when they aren't even around lol. But explain to me why I can't stand watching Diego when it's basically the same show?

I am soooooo glad ds is not into Dora right now. Triple ugh. I can't take the constant yelling and random places they have to go for no apparent reason. Though I do admit that I find the "we did it" song kind of cute. But maybe because I associate it with the show ending? Ha ha. The map song drives me UP THE WALL.

Diego bugs me as well. That camera's voice is annoying. And why does my kid need to be able to say "Pygmy Marmoset" anyway?
