That's a good one!

I think Mr. Eko wasn't originally on the plane. That he was already on the island. But who knows?

Looking forward to tonight.

what does "extended" mean anyway. they said invasion starts at 9pm here, so maybe they mean fewer commericals.

Found on AICN Spoiler possible or just a red herring

http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=21846

Warning :: Spoiler Ahead! Highlight to read message!
Phase 3 Disclosure: The Dharma Initiative is not a secret international research project. You see, the island is part of another "dimension", I guess you'd call it, and is sort of "in between" the universes that are made of light matter and dark matter. We call it "Dharma". It's part of a whole planet that is pretty much available for colonization. It could also be used as a future conduit for inter-dimensional/intergalactic travel. The only problem is that we can't exist there naturally. The island only materializes when there's a solar eclipse. During that time the unique electromagnetic frequency added to the gravitational distortion allows both it and us to exist within the same space. But that "effect only lasts for 108 minutes, and then the island disappears from our world, taking any inanimate matter with it that's left behind.

If you were standing on the island after the primary eclipse period ended and the 108 minutes were up, you'd feel a great big suck of air and then "PLOP!" you'd fall right back into the ocean. Naked.

We are trying to change that. Actually, Majestic 13 developed a machine years ago that allows us to exist there. It's weird, but once us and the island "disappear" into the Dharma dimension, we have days and nights just like the earth one. But we can't travel more than 42 kilometers outside the machine's effective range.

The plan is to develop a way to genetically engineer animals with the right quantum frequency so they can exist in Dharma on their own. That's what the project is all about, and until now it's been classified.

Carlton: We're definitely going to be paying attention to their relationship, but it's not going to turn in ways the audience expects.
Noooo! I want them to fall in wuv and have a little island wedding, with Hurley as the best man (who loses the rings) and Sun as the Matron of Honor. Then a big party -- with the Other's attacking (because someone forgot to reset the code) everyone I dislike.

Whoa, just subbing- can't believe the show isn't even on yet and there are already so many posts

I have yoga tonite so have to tape and watch it tomorrow. I, too, am wondering what 'extended' means- less commerials and more shows would be great!

: definitely betting Charlie induces lactation and absconds with the little one. Maybe they'll meet up with Desmond running around in the jungle.

Me too!

I was stomping my feet like an anxious toddler during the Ana/Goodwin scene!

-So The Others only take the good and children.
-Ana-Lucia did shoot Shannon.
-Next week, IT hits the fan.
-At first I thought Nathan was like Ethan, a higher-class of Other. They had similiar names too. But I guess Goodwin was an Other. I did not see the Goodwin twist coming. Poor Nathan. I guess the guy have bathroom issues.
-I think Eko is/was a preacherman. 40 days of silence after killing someone seems biblical, plus the black suit, burrying of the dead and taking the bible.

How did Ana fire the gun a second time??? I thought she had Sawyer's gun with only one bullet. She shot Shannon supposedly, but then in the preview she shot at Sayid.
Did you see her go after Sayid in the preview???? She definately has a death wish.
Any other thoughts?

Maybe there were two bullets in the gun. One in the chamber and one in the clip?

I thought Sawyer said there was only one bullet in the gun. I too was wonderring how she took a second shot.

Did you hear the guy say that the others weren't attacking them? He gave a lot of interesting information. I was mad when Ana Lucia attacked him, I thought he might have actually told her what was going on. I think that girl has impulse control problems.

Wasn't Bernard in the bathroom when the plane crashed? How'd he end up in the seat? The crash was pretty sudden right? No annoucement to return to seats and buckle up, right?

I'm sure once the plane hit the turbulance, he exited the potty and sat in the nearest open seat -- like Charlie.

Did they show Ethan real quick in the water right as the plane crash scene started? Maybe it was my fevered (literally--I am sick) imagination.

Nothing in this episode gave me any sympathy for Ana Lucia. I thought something major would happen to her personally to give us some insight into why she's such a hardass bitch. But apparently, being a hardass bitch is just her nature. I didn't buy the crying scene at all. That actress has about 1.5 facial expressions in her repertoire.
