Some mighty harsh things being said about a CHILD who is just being himself, as opposed to acting...:

Well sometimes he's himself and sometimes he's drugged to his eyeballs..

You can tell....I prefer watching him when he's being himself, vs when he's drugged.

A child who is on television, on a television show. Hence this thread being in a television discussion forum. The title was clear. If this is offensive to you, I suggest you avoid threads like this in the future.

He doesn't seem drugged to me....

Ritalin...

I've seen little boys (my nephew for one) on it, and you can REALLY tell just by looking at their eyes.

Even DH pointed the differences out to me.

He's like "Look, see in this sketch he's all happy bouncy, being a normal little boy? Look at his eyes right now" And they looked alert, right with you, and wanting to interact.

The next sketch he was doing some sedate activity..I forget what, but DH is like "lool look at his eyes right now, see how spaced they are? Listen to his speech...it's more lethargic almost"

Right then and there you could tell....

DH's middle brother was on high doses of ritalin when he was a kid, my Nephew is also on high doses of ritalin, and you can so tell the difference....and Daniel Cook was put on ritalin in some sketches...

yeah, it's not like those bakers/chocolatiers were gonna sell any of the stuff he made anyway. They probably boxed the truffles, strawberries, and cookies and cake and all that and sent it home with him.

(Probably reason number 3 why his mom allowed him on the show to begin with, Free chocolate? can't go wrong!!!)

Well, if he is offensive and annoying to you, then maybe you should avoid his show in the future.

Yes, she seems very cute and spunky.

They are really starting to aggressively replace Daniel with Emily on Treehouse. Did anyone see the ad they did together promoting her new show? He looked very big and gangly and in the midst of pre teen awkwardness compared to her. Is he really six years old? His website says he’s six, but he looked about 10 to me in the ad. I think they are replacing him because she represents the preschool demographic that is watching the show. Maybe he’s just too old to continue with a show for preschoolers?

Daniel Cook left for a new show, and he was probably getting too old now. He is almost 9.

Jam 7, Peanut Butter 5, and Bread 2.

God I knew I wasn't the only one . But I can't figure out why ... He just makes me feel as if he would not have a show if he wasn't family to someone . And honestly I feel bad to feel the way I do . Extremely annoyed .. but my daughter loves him .....

funny you are commenting on this 10 years later

It was a TVO show for little kids (Canadian, local programming, probably low budget), not Disney. Just an intense little kid, the fact that he is a carrot top just makes it even more of a thing. I question whether there was a lot of 'acting' happening, probably just coached as to what questions he should ask, and of course a lot of editing of the film. He might be a little all over the place but he seemed genuine, I've met kids like him before. So yes it is weird that people are commenting on his personality he's probably still a kid.
