Freaks and Geeks - single-season hour-long ABC drama from the late 90s, very real and funny, reminds me a little of Donnie Darko

Sports Night - early Aaron Sorkin 1/2 hr dramedy

Keeping Up Appearances - 70s britcom about a stuffy, fluffy suburbanite

The Young Ones - 80s britcom about punks who live in a dump, occasional cameos by new wave bands such as madness

I looooooooooooved Sports Night. Loved. Did I mention the love?

I also remember adoring Oh, Madeline, back in the day. No idea what I'd think of it now, though. (crosses self, thinks of Madeline Kahn)

Firefly
Arrested Development

They are 2 of the best shows that never made it.

The Oblongs. Very dark humor and a bit on commentary on today typical american lifestyle. It comes on latenight on adult swim (cartoon network) on the weekends. I found out recently that Will Ferrell did the voice of Bob.
Little synopsis http://www.angusoblong.net/theoblongs.html

Totally dig MXC. Hilarious!!!

Oh - another show we love is Robot Chicken. Totally twisted parodies.
This humor is not for everyone but DP and I have a strange sense of humor.
A few of the best miniclips

I loooove MXC. I saw a commercial on one of the networks for a fully Americanized version of the show that'll be debuting soon. Eh.

Flight of the Conchords is another favorite. All-time favorite obscure is a show called Oddball that used to be on MTV a loooong time ago.

Yep. We love us some FotC too, although I must say that the love is more habit now, since DP likes it so much and we've seen every episode enough times to have them memorized!

So does mine. Then he lists shows that went further with less class. Then he wishes he was rich so he could bankroll another season

My family is obsessed with the British show the Mighty Boosh, Family Plots (not sure if this is obscure in the USA, but here in Australia they play it once a week at midnight), and I also love the Catherine Tate Show (Am I bothered?)

As a kid I remember liking Rocky Road about orphans livinig in an ice cream shop. I never have found it online or heard about it since.

I also remember liking Double Trouble about twin, dancing teenagers.
Yes and yes. I even remember when Rocky Road got a new actress to play the big sister and when Double Trouble suddenly had a whole new cast except for the twins.

Now for the bonus round, did you also watch Down To Earth and Safe at Home? Because if you did you and I are the only people who remember them.

I can even sing the theme songs from Rocky Road and Down to Earth. And yet I can't seem to hang on to French verbs.

Was Down To Earth the show about a girl named Evie who could stop time by putting her two pointer fingers together? Did she and her mother live on the coast of CA while her father lived in space? If so...I can sing lots of the sone too..."moonbeams hang from the sky....whoa, whoa, whoa....blah, blah from earth."

OK, maybe I know less than I thought. I do have the tune.

You have to describe Safe at Home. I don't remember that one.
