Right now I'm loving Unbeatable Banzuke on the G4 channel. DH loves Ninja Warrior on the same channel. What are your favorites?

Right there with ya'!!! Ninja Warrior is crazy, and the handwalking obstacle courses on Banzuke are wild!!

No-so-obscure show, but we love Deadliest Catch.

Oh the Graham Norton show is funny!

I'd say a show is obscure if it's a show the average person hasn't heard of.

DH loves Ninja Warrior so much that he wants to build a practice course in our back yard and train to be on the show lol

OMG! We have at least 70 episodes on the Tivo now! How will we ever watch them all, lol! Do you you have favorites that you root for? I like the construction worker that has gone far a few times; the teacher who has his school children cheer him on; the truck driver named Yamamoto and of course the crab fisherman! Did you see the American Navy diver (BIG guy) when he got disqualified b/c the "pipe slide" bar fell but he still held on?

My kids LOVE both of these - especially my 2 1/2 year old. We started watching NW about a year ago, when ds was about 1 1/2 and barely talking and one of his first words was "neenya!" Now he likes American Gladiator, but calls it "neenya oo-ball" (which i believe must translate into "Ninja Football" he still doesn't talk well ). DS1 (7) and DD(almost 5) set up obstacle courses and play Ninja Warrior.

There's some kind of show I've seen before that sounds like what you guys are talking about, but that's not it. It's some kind of acronym, I think. It's an English-dubbed japanese (???) show where they go through wacky obstacle courses. I think it's on the Spike channel, or one of those "mens" channels.

The only other thing I can think of possibly fitting is the Red Green show. I would think that lots of people would be familiar with that one, but nobody ever seems to know what I'm talking about whenever I've mentioned it. Even though it's totally formulaic, I love the Red Green show.

The original, British version of the Office, although I'm not sure that counts as obscure.

MXC!!! I don't know why, but I absolutely LOVE that show. DH and I watch it whenever it is on. The dialogue is crass but hilarious. And what the HECK are they doing anyway? I mean, it's a real show in Japan (although the dubbing is completely made up for American tv). It's SO funny!

I love them too, and I live 5 min away from the original sunnyvale trailer park! I was at the DMV a few months ago, and the actor who plays Mr. Layhie was there and I got his autograph. He looks exactly the same as on the show.

My twin and I are obsessed with Strangers with Candy. The plot line is a hideous, 46 year old druggie hooker goes back to high school. Very vile, very dark humored, very funny!

That is one of the oddest shows I've ever seen, very off the wall humor. Amy Sedaris, right? I think she has a brother, can't think of his name right now, but they both are very off the wall comedians.

I think she was also a writer (perhaps) for Campus Ladies, which I thought was funny in that same sort of odd way.

I also really like Larry David, but he's not obscure.

Yes, that's the one! I know, it's so bizarre, but it works! teehee. I wish I could get that show on my home tv, but I don't think I have whatever channel that it's on. Perhaps I'll remember to look it up on YouTube one of these days.

What cracks me up is the commercials shown during MXC. I sit and think "Wow, I am SOOOOOOOOOO no their demographic". It's all killer/thug video games, Axe body spray, beer and car ads. Cracks me up. Of course, it also saddens me how they dumb down everything with noise, action and sex to get guys to buy it. What a world...

Firefly. It's a sci-fi meets old west post apocalyptic future show that only lasted one season but it's great. A really fun ensemble cast.

DH and I used watch Red Green every night recorded off PBS. Even though it had been off for awhile, we were totally shocked and saddened when we viewed the final episode!

We also like to watch Red Dwarf when we have a chance.

I am a 40 year old unschooling, belly dancing, artist-mama of one almost 8 year old. I just had brain surgery and blogging.jpg about it a bit because it's just so surreal.

Have you seen the movie? It was great.

Does our obscure show have to be on air now? If not, mine would be Cleopatra 2525

Yep, Firefly is one of my all time favorite shows. Dh gets on this rant about how they canceled it whenever someone mentions the show.
