Feedback please....I'm worried my 18 month old is not getting enough fluid intake to stay hydrated because he only has about 3-4 wet diapers per day (not including diaper changes for poops).
He continues to nurse on demand, but I've always had low supply and to be honest have no idea how much milk he is actually getting via the breast.
I've always supplemented a total of about 6 oz per day of formula, but for the last 6 months or so he has become progressively less interested in it. I've tried offering it to him in a cup, sippy cup etc. Also I've tried offering him cow's milk, coconut milk, almond milk as an alternative and he was not interested in any of these.
He has a sippy cup of water which he drinks from throughout the day. I do not offer him juice. He eats solids though is generally a picky eater and seems to subsist on hardly any food!
He doesn't show any signs of being dehydated - eg he has plenty of energy and great skin tone etc. He continues to gain weight and grow in length steadily, so overall I know he is getting the nutrition he needs.
It's just that I seem to think he "should" have more wet diapers.
And because of my low supply, I've always been hyper sensitive about making sure he gets the food/liquid that he needs.
Am I worried about nothing?
