has been GREAT! Rowan has been so great about it, I'm amazed. He sticks to the left one and when they nurse at the same time Ava gets the right one. but he also doesn't mind when she nurses on the left. he even told me that it was "baby's turn" and tried to put my left breast to her mouth. (!!!!) he's a nipple twiddler so sometimes he tries to twiddle when Ava is nursing and when he realizes he can't he sort of grunts a bit but gets over it in a second. yesterday, he started stroking her hands instead of my nipple and it was so beautiful.

i was so worried that he would react negatively since he's SUCH a boob man, but i couldn't possibly be happier with how it's going! and i am SO glad i kept nursing him because now it's guaranteed cuddle time and he KNOWS he's gonna get it and doesn't worry so much about all of the cuddle time that Ava gets. i can't imagine not tandeming, it's a Godsend!

i love my two precious children so much...and i feel so blessed to be a tandem nursing mother. there is nothing else in the world like it.

My baby is 5 days old and I am loving tandeming, too- I don't know what I'd do without a willing toddler to relieve my engorgement when his little brother is snoozing the day away! It's so sweet to see them nursing together!

we're past 2wks now and it's still amazing and breathtaking to me. today i sat in our dimly lit family room...they had both been napping (i had been too)...ava woke up so i took her to my breast...then rowan woke up a few minutes later and leaned over to nurse. for the next 15 minutes i sat in complete stillness as i watched my sweet son stroke his sister's little hands and face as they both nursed. they were both half asleep and it was the closest thing to Heaven...

i can't imagine things any other way...there is nothing as amazing as this experience...

Congratulations!!! Your post brought tears to my eyes. Thanks so much for posting this! It's so very encouraging - especially since I'll also be tandeming in just a few short weeks.

Congrats on sucessful tandeming. I still find that DD is great help when I get engorged if baby is sick, etc.
