My nursling is almost 27 months old. We *were* down to one time right before bed. Now she sometimes "sneaks" it (latches on while I'm sleeping!) in the middle of the night. I have mixed feelings about this. Part of it sucks because once she latches on, she stays on for pretty much the rest of the night. And I kind of want to *gently* guide her toward weaning. But I KNOW I'm going to miss it. My first intention was to nurse to 6 mo (like my mom did for me and my brother, roughly). Then that snuck up on us too fast...so I thought a year. Then 18 months. Then 2 years. Uh. My head is spinning. I have such mixed emotions about this!

Not sure if this is the right place for me to post but:
DD is almost 11 months and has reduced her nursing significantly. She hasn't nursed at night for almost 2 months and hardly nurses during the day. It seems like she isn't interested or just too excited in exploring other things. She nurses most in early morning and right before bed. Is this normal for her age? I worry she isn't getting enough nutrients from "solid" foods she eats. But she is gaining weight fine etc. Also I am 16 weeks pregnant, so could that be the reason she doens't nurse as much? Thanks for any help/advice/comments!

dd2 is 25mos, and daytime nurses more now than a year ago (too busy exploring the great wide world then!). not entirely CLW: i'll put her off at times when busy, like when getting dd1 ready for school, set limits like no nursing during her gymnastics class (not paying $15 so we can sit and nurse ). but i have no upper age limit in mind, and don't feel anywhere near being through. she's a tough latch, though, (due to a tight frenulum) and needs lots of correction to keep it comfortable/tolerable, and so i keep nursings to <20min long.

dd1 nursed until mama led weaned at nearly 5, tandemmed for >a year. i was ready to be done for a long time.

my signature is usually illegible

I am still nursing kyle almost 7.5. mostly a bedtime thing. but will ask a few time during the week other times. his brother weaned over a year ago. I am going with the flow of thing and letting him lead the way. I can see the comfort he gets from nursing and how could I take that from him. Glad there are a few more out of the closet moms on here.

He's over 4 now, though I remember coming here when he was probably under 1 and feeling intimidated at posting CLW even though I fully planned on it. It's been worth it!

We're still going strong, although DS has had some limits put on his nursing.

Dd3 is 26mos old and not showing any signs of weaning AT ALL. She still nurses quite a bit. Even in public. If I try and persuade her to wait until we get home, I get an all out screaming tantrum in the middle of where ever we are....so, we nurse.

18 months

I'm not toally calling myself a child led weaning advocate just yet because dd is still young, but I have a feeling we're going in that direction. She loves her nursies and I can't picture forcing her to give that up.

wow, 4 nurslings, kirstie? I'm in awe.

I have two nurslings. One will be a year next week. The other will be 4 in two months. I'm still undecided about child led weaning in both cases. I'll figure out if I'm doing CLW once we're there.

My DD is going to be 28 months on the 19th and still nursing. At night. And last night was a good night because she only woke me twice. I think. I suppose CLW is what we are doing only because DD insists on it. Boy I love her so much.:

it took us a few days to feel confident that we were bf'ing at all but we've never looked back. i am pretty sure we were clw from the start, even before knowing what that was.
