My DD, 25 months, self-weaned at 21.5 months. I've speculated that it might have been due to decreased milk production, but really, I don't know why she suddenly stopped wanting to nurse.
Recently, I've heard women talking about a child that has weaned wanting to return to the breast once a new baby is in the picture.
Do any of you have any experience with this? I'm wondering if it's something I should be anticipating when my son is born in January. If so, are there any special challenges for a child returning to nursing? I'm quite content for her to start nursing again if she wants to... just trying to figure out what form it might take.
Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!
