Just wondering who all measures and how much you take it into consideration relating to the size of your baby? I have been measuring and it has been right on in correlation with my weeks of pregnancy. This was not so with my other 2 babies, they almost always especially towards the end measured up to 2-3 weeks bigger. My 1st was about a week overdue & was just over 8lbs & my 2nd was a month and a day overdue and over 10lbs. I'm not a fan of due dates, just using that as a guideline, but I'm wondering if anyone thinks its safe of me to assume that this baby probably won't be as big as my other 2. (at least if he comes closer to his due date, lol). The CNM I was previously seeing thinks this baby will be more "average" since I myself am in better health having lost over 100lbs & got my diabetes under control with diet & exercise.

Mrs. (28) Wife to the Mr. (26) Mama to K (10g) & J (5b). Expecting #3 10/10. Hoping for a HBA2C.

I agree with your CNM, hearing those health details you mentioned

Fundal height is really only a 'rule of thumb', not hard and fast. If it varies by more than 2-3 cms from your week's gestation, it can be reason to investigate your dates, twins, baby's size, etc--but then again, I once had a (tall, slim) client who never got past 34 cms and still had an 8lb baby. Just so you can see that fundal height measurement DOES have it's limits!

Along w/fun. ht, I might also try to feel this baby's size by palpation of your belly. With practice, and repetition over the weeks, you should be able to get a sense of baby's growth and size.
