I have Black Cohosh for back labor, Placenta Out Tincture, and Shepherd's Purse Tincture.

Anyone know the dosage for these?  So far, I can find that you rub the cohosh on the back, Placenta Out is 1tsp every 15 minutes, and Shepherds Purse is 20-40 drops, but no time on repeat dosages!

Thanks!

I've read that Shepherd's purse is one dropperfull under the tongue every minute until bleeding stops, but if 5 min go by, transfer.

Hope that helps!

I have never heard of using Black Cohosh for back pain in labor. Where did you find that?

On the Shepherd's Purse, Susun Weed's book says "A dropperful of the fresh plant tincture under the tongue can stop postpartum hemorrhage in five seconds... If you are forced to use a ticture or extract of dried plants, try one teaspoonful under the tongue and repeat every minute as needed."

Gloria Lemay has a recipe for anti-bleed tea: http://www.glorialemay.com/blog/?p=313

Sounds like the rubbing it on the back is to absorb through the skin, maybe for a slower effect as labor augmentation?
