Long birth story alert. The short version is baby came out fine & we went in for retained placenta. The full length version can be read Here.

Beautiful story, voondrop love.gif I admire your conviction to allow labor to unfold as it needed to. I'm glad your transfer for the placenta wasnt too bad, I've heard some horror stories. Enjoy your little girl!

great birth story. I enjoyed the details. I'm pregnant with number 5 and due early december. This is my first UC. My husband and I are really excited . How come you did not have any herbal remides on hand like placenta out? I was thinking about having that on hand with my UC. With my other births my uterus gets tried after birth and I have a hard time dilivering my placenta. Since my last 4 births where with some sort of medical profesional they always gave me a shot of potocin in my thigh to help diliver the placenta. I hope this time it will just come out naturally! But i'm glad you wrote ur brith story and how you where not afraid to go to the ER for help. Makes me feel like if I cant get the placenta out I can easily get the help I need.

I thought about the Placenta Out & I just couldn't swing it on our budget; we go a little slimmer than a shoestring. Most of our supplies were free & the doppler rental was a gift from my mom. I always do take at least an hour for placental delivery, but I've never had such a long first stage before which served to show me that every birth is different. I did scroll down to some older threads & saw how some ladies have waited 30 hours for the placenta to come out & that's beyond my personal comfort zone. But apparently it can go that way w/ no ill effects for some people too. By all means, get as much of what you can use!

Congrats voondrop! Sorry you had to transfer, but at least it seemed to go pretty well.

Glad to hear of stories that needed a transfer for placenta but still went well. I was close to needing transfer from the birthing center with my first, and I've been a little worried about the placenta now that we're expecting our second.
