I've been in labor for what seems like forever. Now I've almost stopped. Can't figure out what is going on. Checked myself and my cervix is completely thinned and dilated pretty good. Can't tell how far.....

Losing bloody mucus just like I did last time when in labor with Emma.

So what is going on? I have been laboring for a day and a half and now nothing. Just crampiness. It's been like this for at least 2-2.5 hours.

I feel so discouraged right now. This is definitely the real deal, so why isn't anything happening anymore?

Hoppytoad, is your bladder full? that can slow labor down. And then there is the *just before pushing phase* rest, that makes it seem like labor has stopped, but it hasn't....just a break before the hard work hits. By now you may be holding your baby, as I just saw your post....blessed birthing, Cathi

thanks for your replies. I'm not holding my baby yet. It's comforting to feel him/her move around some, but contractions are still sporadic. What can I do? Do people actually labor, complete with cervical changes, for days on end? This is emotionally and physcially exhausting.

Oh, and I've been using the bathroom regularly. Even emptied my bowels. I'm eating, staying hydrated, moving around, taking naps, etc..

I can usually count on a contraction if I lie down on my side.

Sometimes they do...the ctx don't come closely(in some labors), but they are steady and steadily stronger, and then all of a sudden, the lady wants to push! this has only happened twice to me...

You're doing great, mama. Baby will come out, I think we can all be certain of that one. Some of us labor much longer than others. I remember reading the story of a woman who was in active labor for 4 to 6 days. It was a breathtaking and amazing birthstory.

Hope all is still well.
