So I am into week 11 of my pregnancy- doing it all UP. Every week I test blood pressure, blood sugar and urine.
So far so good. Then yesterday I check my urine-
Leukocytes, PH levels, really really high! All indicative of a UTI.
Uggh I am so bent. So I increased my water and cranberry juice intake, and ordered some Uva Ursi caps to help (not here yet)
After 24 hrs of my treatment, I check my urine again...EVEN WORSE!
What is going on?
I put a call into my GP- she knows I am pregnant and probably knows I am doing UP. She needs to treat me if it gets out of hand, but I don't want anything looming over her head because of my choices. BUT they are my choices anyway.

Then, I am concerned about antibiotics, because I am **** lnursing Sydney, too.

Also, I don't feel sick- no fever, no abdominal pain, nothing. Just a slight burning and tenderness down below. Oh and sudden thick discharge (but not smelly)

Please tell me what you think all knowing mamas! Help me get over this!

Arrgh!

okay- tea time.

Mama to 5 babies. UCer, too!

Good job catching it so early. I got a really bad UTI during my second trimester and it sucked big time. It was even in my kidneys.

I didn't have a GP and didn't want to risk seeing anyone new, not too mention that I didn't really want to take antibiotics, so I did some quick research and came up with my own treatment. Here's what I took:

Grapefruit seed extract
Olive leaf extract
Nettles
Hydrangea
Alfalfa
Cornsilk
Dandelion
B Vitamins
Vitamin C
Probiotics
Cranberry capsules

My infection was pretty serious so I bet you wouldn't have to mess with all that. Probably the GSE and some cranberry capsules would take care of it. Plus lots of rest and of course tons of water. Anyway, after 24 hours my UTI was much better and after a week it was gone. If you're prone to them it would be a good idea to keep taking the cranberry as maintenance. Hope this helps you if you haven't already got it under control. Healing vibes to you.

Oh BTW, I read that Uva Ursi is not recommended during pregnancy. Too strong or something.
