It's been a few days - I'm guessing you have your little one in your arms by now. Congrats and enjoy your babymoon!

I'm planning a UBAC myself for my next baby and I'd love to hear your birth story if you get a chance to type it up.

hi ladies,
thanks for all the warm wishes, i have been enjoying my new babe, winter elise she is beautiful and perfect and all i could ask for.

i had a great and empowering labor and it went well until i got to pushing. i began to feel a horrendous tearing sensation across my scar. i assumed that i was pulling loose adhesions from the mess that was my first c/section. after a while, i could no longer pee, swelling like a tick and baby was not coming down. finally after 4.5 hours of pushing and constantly trying new positions/walking/stairs/squats/etc..., i had to accept that the excruciating pain over my scar was 'not right' and went to hospital. my ob met me there and we had another c/ section. my baby had turned asynclitic in my pelvis, and i believed saved me from an emergency trip to the hospital for shock later on that night. see, apparently the idiot who did the first unessicearian left my innards a complete mess and my bladder had torn open (almost 4 inches) during pushing from all of the adhesions. my ob said that he had never seen such a hack job and tried to repair what he could. i have to wear a catheter and leg bag until after thanksgiving and now have a raging UTI (DUH) which i am sure that i picked up in the hospital.
i am desperately looking for something that i can take (like a supplement/herbal) to try to get rid of it, as the antibiotics that would kill the super bug i am likely infected with are not compatible with breast feeding. :

i am soo P*ssed and upset about the fact that the med student who did my first section messed it up so completely that my body started tearing apart right when i was so close and it had gone so well! uc/ubac is so the way to go, and i am sorry to deliver this crappy news to you all, just trying to work thru it myself right now and fighting back the resentment and tears.

love, 'toast

Oh, sweetie, I just had to give you some . I'm so sorry that had to happen to you. I know there's nothing I can say that will help, but know that your family at MDC is ALWAYS here for you.

Oh honey, I am so sorry things didn't turn out the way you had hoped and dreamed! Good for you for listening to your body even though it was telling you something you didn't want to hear.

Some possible things to take for the infection: grapeseed extract, goldenseal or oregon grape root, astragalus (for longer term immune system boosting), and echinacea.

You might consider an iron tonic and maybe milk thistle too, to help detoxify (from the drugs I assume you were given in the hospital) and to help your milk come in (sometimes a traumatic birth can affect mik supply). Red raspberry leaf, red clover, and nettle tea have great vitamins and minerals to help support your body in getting well.

(I like to buy many of these from http://www.kerrysherbals.com/tinctures.shtml, though I've also gotten them at several HFS, some even at GNC.)

Definately get some good acidophilous to head off any yeasties that might be trying to take up residence.

I would avoid garlic, because of it's blood thinning properties.

Huge ((((hugs)))) to you. Snuggle your sweet baby, rest, drink lots of water, and know that we are all thinking of you.

Laura, mama to J (11), N (8),E (5) , and M (2). Baby #5 expected in Dec 2010!

I also want to commend you for for listening to your heart so beautifully. You chose the most peaceful way to give birth to your babe. I'm just sorry that the damage done to you prevented her from birthing into your own hands. We are all here for you however you need us to be.

Wishing you a happy and healthy babymoon from here on out.

(sorry, I don't know any supplement herbal remedies for you. But I can look elsewhere on MDC. Just say the word.)
