I started to post this morning and then got kicked off my computer. lol!
It is so nice to meet everyone here! And Linda, I feel like a total dork. I knew your user name was familiar but couldn't place it. duh! How close are you with your book now?
As for my own introduction>>
I am Amanda married to dh (Dan) for 22yrs. We have 5 children --ds 24yr, dd 21yr married and ttc, ds 18yr, dd 9yr, dd 5yr and baby due late September. My first birth was hospital birth strapped to delivery table, forceps delivery, some meds, second was a hospital birth, induced for ob convenience. Third was a planned homebirth with mw that ended up being a birth at their clinic due to two mamas in labor at the same time. Forth was a planned homebirth attended by the mw I was apprenticing with. Fifth was a planned homebirth with same mw that thankfully fired herself at the end of my pg due to her own personal control issues. Thankfully too, because I so wanted a uc birth and found myself stuck because it is hard to fire your boss, so to speak. lol! Anyone wanting that birth story can ask and I can post it.
It was a planned breech birth at home that delivered head down unexpected. hehehe
This baby we are planning a uc as well. We are totally up/uc this time. I have gone in to see my homebirth friendly doctor for bloodwork I wanted done. I didn't set an prenatal appointment, snuck in without them knowing I was pg and surprised the doc. He did my bloodwork without question and told us if we needed anything to let him know. He also handled my last two m/c so you can imagine how thrilled he was to see a baby on the way! (yes, I am lucky to have such a good family doc) I have been keeping a journal and making notes of my pg from time to time just for my own personal knowing/remembering.
We are a natural parenting family. We unschool and do all the other fun things like cloth diaper, breastfeed, don't vax, don't circ, baby wear, cosleep, est.....
You get the idea. ~smiling~ We also have a small farm and work to raise our own foods and eat all organic. I enjoy reading, study herbology, have a passion for holistic nutrition, and assist at home births when asked. Not many because I support and back UC birth. Once a family learns what is possible, they usually go it on their own. YA!!!!
Again, thanks for the warm welcome!
