Talking to the wrong person My 14lber fell down a toilet while I was begging for an enema because the last time my cervix was checked, I had an anterior lip and had been told not to push, but I needed to poo. (At this point everyone who's ever given birth rolls their eyes, but what can I say? I was young and inexperienced.) Head crowned, then the shoulders, then the waters broke and we dropped him down the toilet, then we caught him, then everything was fine. THEN the midwives took a second look and realised that we were actually holding what looked like a typical 3-month-old and again, being young and inexperienced, we had no idea what they meant. Oh, and both his head and chest were smaller than both his younger brothers. Babies come as they're meant to, and your job is to get back in touch with that inner faith in your body
How's today?

We currently have 5-6 feet of snow... and we are getting 10-20 inches today. Next month we won't be able to see out our windows. Our mountain gets snow from September through June. Our dog is currently looking down into our house. Some shorter houses already have dogs on the roof. I should take a picture and post it on my blog... maybe this afternoon.

My back and hips hurt... but I am emotionally doing well. I would like to see some sunshine though...

Would you post a photo? I'm looking at the words "california" and "6ft of snow" and my brain is boggling. Seriously.

I'm right there with you mama! 41 weeks and absolutely no signs of impending labor. Thank you for this thread though! It's good to remember that it 40 weeks is just a #!

But I'm really hoping something happens for both of us soon!

Yeah, I'm hoping something happens for you both soon too. I feel guilty because I escaped a week or two of prodromal labour :

Discouraged is good. At one point with Skye I found myself looking at kitchen knives and wondering just how much a DIY caesarean would hurt... you have to get truly fed up before baby comes out, sometimes.
How's today?

My choice would be to wait and do nothing... But walking is becoming difficult and I am concerned with the size of the baby... All previous babies were 9 lbs.
Quit walking for a day or so... rest! I'm a California girl myself and hoping I can get back there to be a LM someday! Maybe Lassen would be a good place to go! I looked on the CA Licensing website and I found three midwives in two surrounding counties. I don't know if they could directly help you, but they may know of someone in your area... it's worth a couple of phone calls at least. The two LM's in Shasta County are Dena Jean Burgess 2672 Belladonna, Redding and Nora Ellen McNeal, 2325 Chestnut St., Redding.

I wish it could... but to get induced, you have to have a dr.s orders... And at only 1 cm DILATED I wasn't able to have my water broken... But all that is water under the bridge!!!

Thanks for working so hard!
