Hi, i'm due with baby # 2 in December. i decided that i will be having an UC. I live in western Pa and i'm having trouble locating a midwife for a homebirth and also can't afford to have one. I'm a lil nervous but i'm getting a ton of books and i've been doing a lot of reading on this forum. The only thing is i have not told dh my plans.

Welcome, congratulations, and good luck (with telling DH)!!

What really helped mine was to read "Emergency childbirth" (you can find a link to a PDF of it online in the stickies)... after reading it, he just didn't see the point in paying someone else to do that!

It'll be ok. Start your studying and it'll begin to come together for you. I came to UC much the same way you did.

I'll be 42 when the newest little one is born! Yowza!

Welcome to the group. Hope your DH does not have a problem with it. Just start out slowly by sharing ideas and circumstances with him before hitting him with the "this is how it is" speach. This usually makes it a bit easier when the talk does come.

Any misspellings or grammatical errors in the above statement are intentional;
they are placed there for the amusement of those who like to point them out.
