DS2 was diagnosed with multiple allergies last week. His primary symptoms are skin rash/itchiness and severe stomach pain. We've been very diligent to avoid even traces of allergens and have noticed a big difference. However, he's still reacting to something so we're not sure if maybe he's getting some allergens or if he also has food intolerances that we haven't yet identified.

ANYWAY, last night I gave him Benadryl for his stomach cramping. Within a couple of minutes, he stopped screaming and writhing and was asleep in less than 5 minutes. Was it the Benadryl that worked so fast?? If so, then it must have been an allergic reaction we were dealing with.

Benadryl kicks in really fast for my dd. I'd say within 5-10 minutes she's looking and feeling much better.

Thanks for the replies! I guess we must still need to eliminate some source of allergens. If Benadryl took a while to work, then I would know the stomach problem last night was a food intolerance. Figuring this stuff out is so much fun! I will be so happy to avoid whatever we need to avoid if we can just identify everything!

Just popping in to say I've gone from sneeze-attacks so bad I practically had whiplash, to totally calm within a few minutes of taking Benadryl.
