I have been on the elimination diet for quite some time now and would like to start adding some more fruits and vegetables to my diet. Which ones are easiest to digest and least likely to aggravate my dd's reflux? I tried cantaloupe with horrible results.
Thanks so much,
Lindsay

For some reason I am under the impression that cooked are easier to digest (that's why babies eat cooked first). And I think another user said on the GI thread they were advised orange veggies over green ones for digestibility. Have you tried adding enzymes? They really help me! Or probiotics? I'd start with something easily digested there too - like sauerkraut juice. HTH!

If you look for the top intolerance thread started by me, it'll tell you which ones people on here have had better (or worse) luck with. Or if you have excel, PM me with your email, and I'll email you the spreadsheet (I think it's easier).

"Easy to digest" can mean very different things for different people. In general though, I think of the mild fruits that digest quickly as being "easier" to digest, like pears. Apples take a long time to digest, and absorb toward the end of the GI track, like most fruit. This is why, in some healing systems, like Ayurveda, a primary food principle is that fruit is best digested (and nutrients absorbed) when eaten alone, and especially NOT with milk products.
