My Dad just found out he's allergic/intolerant (not sure which) to Brewer's yeast, and he's not going to give up beer easily.  Is there a beer out there (we're in Canada if it matters) or a home brew type that he can buy/make that does not use this?  Unfortunately he's also allergic/intolerant to baker's yeast.  Beer and bread, two of his favourite things!  Any suggestions most appreciated.

I wonder if you could use water kefir grains to brew the beer rather than yeast? (or just brew water kefir for a long time until it becomes alcohol, but that won't taste like beer at all.) That's the only thing I can think of.....

Actually water kefir made from maple syrup instead of sugar and brewed for a long time tastes ALOT like beer to me! I know you can make a ginger beer with water kefir also.
