Have any of you tried using straight coconut oil or aloe to treat eczema (not as a part of mixed cream or salve, or their own)?  Just curious if either of those are effective.  DD is allergic to dairy for sure, and likely eggs and wheat as well and has a host of symptoms (lots of night waking, diarrhea, gassiness, crankiness), the most prominent and first noticed is eczema on her arms, chest, neck, and occasionally her legs.  We have used California Baby lotions and a calendula/comfrey salve made by her naturopath.  Interested in trying something different that might work more consistently.

I've used coconut oil.  It soothes, but doesn't really cure, in my experience.  I don't use aloe as I'm horribly allergic to it.

Eliminating my triggers is the only real help.  In my case, it's a combination of food allergies, contact allergens, and severely dry skin.  I can do more for the first two.  The last bit is really only helped with lotion, hydration, and getting some good fats in my diet.

You might have some luck using jojoba.  Again, I'm allergic, but it might work a bit better for mimicking the skin's natural moisture.

Chasing DS since April 2007 and pumping for DD March 2013.

You can also use extra virgin olive oil and then take a warm shower, it helps in treating Eczema, and another option is Sea salt bath.
