I've been GF for about 6 months after some significant health problems prompted me to change my diet, and bravely hosted a birthday party for DD and did all GF food. Nobody even knew! My family has a lot of picky eaters, too.
These dishes were easy to make and enough for a crowd of about 15.
I wanted to share some of the recipes:
Pumpkin Cake (I mixed my own baking flour using the proportions he links to in the recipe)
Mac and Cheese (used Ancient Harvest Quinoa Pasta) - really could have made a double batch of this, because they ate it all up.
http://www.inspiredtaste.net/9038/pumpkin-mac-and-cheese-recipe/ (subbed potato starch for the flour in the roux)
**Warning - do not try to bake gf noodles. Works much better if you just cook them and then mix the sauce in and serve it.
Sesame Broccoli (just be sure you get GF soy sauce) - made a triple batch of this and it all went.
Crockpot Vegetarian Chili - just my own hodge podge recipe with three kinds of beans, corn, tomatoes, peppers, onions and chili powder.
My neighbor came with salmon dip and brought GF crackers for it! There was nothing that I couldn't eat and the kitchen didn't get all contaminated!
That's awesome! I love it when everyone "doesn't know" :)
We did a GF, dairy, egg, peanut, tree nut, banana and blueberry free first birthday party for my 1 year old and everyone loved it. I love when people don't even know but say "How do you manage" and I tell them everything at the last party was! lol
