We have allergies in our house. But a sample of 2 isn't very scientific. So I was wondering how many of you have allergies and what kinds? I have several, peanuts, shellfish (even salmon because of the amount of shrimp they eat.) avocado's, mangoes, banana's (oh how I miss banana bread!) latex and although I can touch it I cannot use silicone, even medical grade, um internally (thinking the diva cup). How about you?
I'm allergic to cats but have lived with one for the last 14 years.
I also have the typical hayfever stuff. I did acupuncture for my allergies so I could stop using allergy medicines before TTC, and it really helped. DW has seasonal allergies and gets bad headaches from them periodically.
Oh my gosh! I had no idea that there was acupuncture for that! How often do you have to get it done to feel a reduction in symptoms? I'm a little scared of needles, so if you wouldn't mind, what general places do the put the needles in?
I did acupuncture with a combination of Chinese herbs and dietary changes. I went once a week for the first month and then about once a month after that, I think. The needles could go in many different places. I mostly had them in my forehead and next to my nose and on my legs. Sometimes they were in my scalp as well. The needles are very thin so not as painful as a shot, but you would want to work with someone who could help you be calm and relaxed.
We had some success with NAET and acupuncture but i seems to be Practioner dependent and can ware off. We are now trying LDA shots and I have seen much success for me. I think success with the baby, it's hard to tell.
I have gluten intolerance. In addition I cannot handle dairy. Sometimes eggs bother me. Other odd allergies to food include: asparagus, crab, cranberries and amaranth.
My daughter has seasonal allergies, milk (as a beverage only -- cheese, ice cream, etc. are ok), some dogs, and cats.
My other daughter has some seasonal allergies.
