i just realized my 2 yr old has this, but i'm not finding what i need on the internet.

does anyone know what amount of salicylates is recommended per day (mg) for the average person? does it depend entirely on how sensitive she is?

i'll do some experimenting on my own, but it would be very helpful to have a starting point. there's one website that sells a whole packet of information but i hope to avoid having to order that.

TIA!

Do a google on Feingold diet for info about salicylate free diets and which are safer.

It really depends on her sensitivity levels. If I remember correctly salicylates are a subset of Phenols so you may want to try searching that as well.

as far as fruits/veggies the higher salicylates are almonds, apples, apricots, berries, cherries, cucumbers, grapes/raisins, nectarines, oranges, peaches, peppers, plums, tomato. I think if you do a diet of NO known salicylates then add them one at a time you can see what HER recommended amount is. Like ds2 can have grapes one day but not day after day. Or blueberries in a smoothie one day can't be repeated because then it makes them insanely cranky. We also cut out all preservatives and processed junk and ds1 is much sweeter now ds.... well, hes just 3 and is a pistol no matter what he eats.

i did find some numbers on another website and since i'm writing down everything i eat, i'll add up how much she ate when the eczema flared up then start from there.
