well, good luck I guess comes in 3's because I really like our pedi-GI
I'm actually glad our car broke down because I ended up seeing a different Dr today than the one I had planned on! So, in a nutshell (figurative
) She doesn't want to scope Liberty yet, but based on my husband's history (which she now wants to take on his case as well, even though shes a pedi-GI!
), and Liberty's story, we are officially watching out for an EGID. She said that while she can't say for sure, her educated guess would be "very likely". I didn't have a stool sample, so she had to do a rectal to get one (
) and it came out very mucousy but no blood. She was concerned about the mucous and wanted another sample, so I'm mailing one in from her diaper this morning....
She basically gave me the same options as everyone else, keep cutting foods or wean to neocate. She was ok with either for now since we aren't seeing blood yet, but she was a bit concerned about me. For now I'm just keeping on as I have been, though I might try to at least get her to take a bottle in case thats the route we go, I don't want it to be sudden or traumatic for her.
So, thats pretty much it which doesn't seem like much in writing but since SHE was the one who brought up EGID, I feel at the very least a little bit validated...she also happens to sort of specialize in MFAs and EGID, so I kinda hit the jackpot on her. And she was supportive of me continuing to breastfeed if thats what I want to do
:
Also, this is tentative since many a trial has failed this way, but I put goat cheese on my gluten free, tomato free, etc etc "pizza" last night (we had an election party, I was feeling a little left out since they got take-out pizza...I know, bad mama, but I've never had goat cheese so I convinced myself it was like "rare food"...) and she seems the same today. I mean I can't say normal because shes still got the same clumpy poop that we cannot get to go away, but she DID poop, and it WAS yellow, and shes happy, no rashes, nothing changed from yesterday.....so I guess I need to find some more goat stuff to eat in the next few days for a trial. If I get goat cheese I could totally do this diet for years!! But I cannot get my hopes up, most of our foods fail at day 3 or 4....
