I've never, ever had problems with my teeth until recently.

I have had two boys in three years and I'm still nursing both which I'm wondering couldn't be some of the causes of the problems I'm experiencing but basically, I have several cavities that need filling (my first!) and some tooth decay issues.

In reviewing the factors that may be contributing to the problems, nursing/being pregnant is really the only huge change over the last few years. Admittedly, I haven't been great about getting to the dentist regularly though part of that was due to being pregnant twice. My diet is also not as healthy as it once was since I'm working from home while keeping up with an infant and toddler but I don't think it's horrible.

Of course, as soon as I think I need it, my copy of Cure Tooth Decay has gone MIA but I know a lot of Nagel's recommendations include FCLO and raw milk. I'm really, really, really hesitant to use FCLO because of the fishy smell/taste though I could probably do raw milk.

What other things can I do that would keep me honest to my vegetarian diet or is there just no way? Can anyone assure me that the taste of FCLO is really not as bad as I fear? At this point, I really need to start caring for myself better, no matter what that means. :/

You can use grass-fed butter and cream and also raw egg yolks and the FCLO. From what I've read about tooth health, it is the fats in the milk that benefit the teeth.

I don't think that the egg yolks and fish oil are going to taste ok. The taste is not very appealing, to my opinion. But I care more about my health than a moment of unpleasant flavor. You may just have to cope with the taste.

I also have not heard that a vegetarian diet helps teeth. I've heard the opposite, and my experience confirms this: a high-fat paleo-esque diet improved my teeth while a vegetarian diet harmed them.

Acid reflux is a significant factor in deteriorating teeth. Consider drinking a bit of baking soda water before bed.

Best wishes

What supplements do you take? Did you take a good prenatal while pregnant AND nursing? I don't believe a vegetarian diet will harm your teeth. We can go around and around about this topic in this forum, trying to pin point an exact cause, but there are so many cases of heavy meat eaters with bad teeth, and vegetarian eaters with great teeth, there's so many possible factors. I'm a vegetarian and have been for 25 years. My teeth are great. In fact, the Dentist marveled at how great they are, especially considering I hadn't been to a Dentist in like 15 years. I had no issues while pregnant, but I did take lots of supplements (and still do).

I should mention that my kids are also vegetarian, and have never had meat or milk. They both breastfed for 18 months. Their teeth are good. I was a meat eater and huge milk drinker as a child and had a ton of cavities.

Me too. I've been a vegetarian for 20 years and have only had one cavity my entire life about 2 years ago. My husband, on the other hand, isn't a vegetarian at all and has had several. I'm sure genetics and lots of other things play into it as with any health issue.

Good to know that you have read the book Cure tooth decay by Ramiel Nagel as this is what I was going to suggest you when I read your problem. If the book is missing you can always buy it again or check out the details in his website http://www.curetoothdecay.com/

Anyway you should know that Ramiel doesn’t support vegetarian diet for cure of tooth decay. You know the basic requirements of his nutritional protocol for cure of decay is use of raw grass fed milk, fish, grass fed meat, bonemarrow, yogurt and FCLO.You need to get over with the smell of FCLO as taking it will help you cure your cavities tremendously. Just follow his diet plan and you will be able to treat your cavities and remineralize your teeth in no time.
