My daughter had her 8 year old dental checkup.  She does not have sealants so they say that they need to check her molars with a diagnodent to see if she is developing cavities at every visit.  They are telling me that her numbers are getting higher and if they get much higher that they will probably need to do a filling so I should get sealants to prevent this.  I have never heard of this diagnodent before this, but from what I have read that it doesn't mean that there is a cavity that it would have to be verified with something else.  Does anyone have experience with Diagnodents?  If her molars are getting deeper, how would I go about getting her teeth to remineralize so that she doesn't get cavities?  I haven't wanted to get sealants, but they make me feel like I am risking her teeth...  Thank you for any advice!!!

Basically you want her to be getting minerals and fat soluble vitamins, and I'm giving my kids lots of fermented stuff too to make sure their gut is healthy so they get the most out of the food they are eatings. Grass-fed butter (and meat) is a good source for vitamin k.

Thank you for the information.  I did find the mothering page on healing cavities and have been looking at that.

Yes, I make a demineralization toothpaste myself. Good to use it and not rinse it out. Also , a neutralizing mouthwash maybe in the mornings which is basically salt and water.
