Hope all goes well. When I had mine out it really wasn't too bad. I was eating solid food again after about a day. Really small bites of solid food, but solid food nonetheless. Keeping my fingers crossed that you have an easy experience too!

No, I was sedated. I'm very squeamish about dental stuff and I didn't want to remember any of it. I had some baby teeth removed with just a local when I was younger and I remember some interesting sounds as the teeth were removed and I DID NOT want to experience that again. So, in short, when it comes to dental stuff I am a big baby.

You can always ask for local without epi...Although the local may not last as long, and will not control the bleeding as well (epi constricts the blood vessels, leading to less bleeding). Or, at the least you can ask them to limit the amount of local with epi to a minimum. Just let them know that it makes you jumpy. There are also injection techniques that they can use to help with that as well. Good luck, and just remember to Breath

PS: We do lots of extractions with just local at the clinic, I am at. I ask every single patient at the conclusion of the procedure if it was as bad as they expected it to be, and 95% said that it was not as bad as they thought it would be. The worst ones are the big muscle head guys, that you think are going to be all tough...They tell me...(and I am pretty small) how afraid of the dentist that they are...Very cute!!!

I didn't find the homeopathic remedy recommended to me (hypericum) to be helpful at all, but clove oil was a godsend. I ended up with dry socket and the ONLY thing that relieved the pain (I didn't take any pain meds) was clove oil. It was wonderful!

How did you take the clove oil? Just directly on the area with a q-tip?

Yes. And it was so weird because when I accidentally got it anywhere in my mouth besides on the socket, it really, really hurt for a few seconds, but it didn't hurt at all on the injured area. (The burning caused by the misplaced clove oil was not *nearly* as bad as the pain caused by the dry socket though. )

Hello! IM alive and well

i went in and the oral surgeon new i wanted the least meds possible no
pain killers etc so he didnt ask and he thought it was great that i
was still nursing.. anyways it took more time for the numbing to kick
in then the actual procedure which was maybe 10 minutes with 2
impactions, and to half way down . The only thing i hated was that he
did give me a lil bit of the ephinephrine with the numbing cause i
felt like i was literally gonna fly outta my seat he came back in
while it was still kicking in to see how i was and he thought i was
cold. I said "No i just feel like i have parkinsons " LOL I didnt
think i was nervous about the procedure that it was more the epi
however it really was probaly both so i did take an aconite 30X and by
the time he was pulling i was just laying there.

He actually said i was his best patient hes had in a while that very
few especially with 4 go just local. I think hes also really good at
what he does though to KWIM.

He was laughing cause as soon as he popped them out and sutured me i
sat up and started taking my remedies and rubbing arnica on my face LOL

I also have kept ice on to earlier. As of now the only thing i feel is
like a sore jaw feeling however my jaw wasnt open that long so
probably just from the teeth pulled outta the sockets. I cant believe
the sudden relief off of my right ear and jaw.

I would suggest though having some of the 200C remedies.. I swear
hypericum must be like morphine.

SO i still dont want to eat though i did have Meso soup. Im afraid if
anything gets in lil areas though other then that i feel good : O )

Oh the worst was because the one bottom was wrapped around the main
nerve i lost feeling in my lip, chin and tongue i kept taking
hypericum until i got tingling and then went to herbalist and got a
tea just in case however by this evening i finally have full feeling
back inthose areas. It did make me nervous cause i already had feeling
all over my teeth and gums not just around there....
