It took me all weekend, but I've read every post in this thread. Great info!
My DS is 2.5 yo with his top 4 front teeth decaying (the teeth on either side of the 2 front ones are nearly nubs, and he has a brown line of discolouration through his front 2 teeth). I've ordered some Xylitol gum and mints, and will be looking into the toothpaste too, since I've been using it in my morning coffee or tea, as a toothpaste, and randomly mints and have noticed a great difference in my own teeth this past week. I need to find products that DS will consume since all I could find locally was mint flavoured things, which he sais are too "hot" (I ordered zellies with orange and raspberry candies/gum).
In addition to the xylitol, I'm going to check out local amish communities for HVBO (may wait for the summer to do this?). Being a vegetarian, I'm having a moral dilema whether or not I will consume CLO too (DS is still nursing). Any tips for getting CLO into a child? For a bit, he'd drink it happily from a syringe, but that fad has passed, and we've ruined many a shirts with spit out CLO that just STINKS and discolours.
I will be more adament about avoiding sugar in foods, and would like to get a home mill to avoid refined flour.
I had horrible sickness for 8 mos of my pregnancy, and not a stellar diet before then (standard NA vegetarian diet of a university student vegetarian- soy milk, tofu, and tofu products which killed my thyroid and probably too much alcohol- though none when pregnant
). I'm going to get my copy of NT back from a friend and start soaking grains and sprouting nuts. I figure with HVBO, fresh eggs, and eating as much NT without organ meats and bone broth, I'll be at least heading in the right direction.
Wooo...small novel, sorry- lots going on in my overloaded, slow-to-process brain.
