Hi all,
My just turned 5 yr old (Sept) is cutting 3 new molars all at once! These will be the third molars on each side...
I don't know much about when he's supposed to get them...but it seems early.
Can anyone shed some light?
Also, my friend told me that these are the first of his "permanent" teeth coming in...true?

Thanks!-Mel.

hi!
I came to the dental forum just now looking for info on this. My child is 5 1/2 and I just discovered a new molar when I was back there flossing. Really caught me by surprise! shows how much I know...

Those are the first permanent molars. Some people call them the 6yr molars ( because that is the average age of eruption). Does your DC have any loose teeth yet? Check the lower front 2 you may be suprised. Kids usually dont have any problems getting them. They may complain of a little tenderness if eating something hard like pretzels.

I will check his teeth tonight to see if he has any loose ones : )
I'd be glad if they were! Those front teeth has been such a source of angst (cavities/dental work).
