My DD is almost 3. We just took her to her second dental appt. The first was 1 1/2 years ago. I didn't like the dentist, so didn't go back. Now, we've found one we like.

Anyway, we haven't been using toothpaste with her, but now it's time. She doesn't have any cavities or anything. I just don't know what kind of toothpaste to pick for her. I was thinking something with xylitol.

Also, what she reacted to at the dentist's office was the flavor of the toothpaste. I didn't taste it myself, but I assume it had a really strong flavor. So, something mildly flavored would be good.

Thanks for any advice!

Do you use fluoride toothpaste or not?

My son likes Natural Dentist Sparkle Berry Blast but that has fluoride in it. He also likes Tom's Silly Strawberry, which comes in fluoride or fluoride free. I think Spry is pretty mild flavored and it's fluoride free. All of those toothpastes are on this page: http://www.dentist.net/kids-dental-care.asp

My son loves Tom's silly strawberry for kids. we have both with and without flouride.

ive tasted it, it's mild and not bad.

we had to fire our first dentist, too - but our current one is great.

I don't know if we use fluoride or not. I don't have any in my toothpaste. My husband has it in his. My DD's never used toothpaste. I know dentists are for it. Some others are against it. Quite frankly, I find it all confusing.

Thanks for your recommendations!

my kids all use Weleda Tooth Gel and seem to like the taste, it's pretty mild, reminds me of black licorice

It's floride-free and natural, I don't mind if the youngest two swallow a bit on accident.

We use spry infant gel with my 4.5 year olds. It's xylitol and free of flouride. We've used it all along with them.
