So, DD knows how to use the potty, has all the signs of readiness and was doing great. Then the activity lost its newness and we went for 2 weeks to visit the family over the holidays. (lots of chaos and change in routine) Now she absolutely refuses to use the potty. If I ask/offer/invite/suggest the answer is always no. She is even reluctant to leave her play to get her poops changed.
Here's the kicker, she will change her own diaper or reusable training pants. Yep, she can lay down and put her own new diaper on!
I am trying hard to be patient, but I am getting frustrated.
I am hesitant to use reward, it feels like bribery and when do you stop the rewards? We tried a potty chart/stickers a while back and it just caused a huge upset because she wanted more than one sticker at a time.
Any words of wisdom?
