just wondering what age this would be -- 12 months? once they start 'toddling' around? my little girl is almost 10 months and cruising like crazy.. i feel like she's recently really been moving out of the baby stage (snif!), like last night she started scribbling with one of my markers in a notebook. all on her own. her dad and i were sitting there with our jaws on the ground watching her..
When they are no longer crawling. When walking becomes their preferred method of transport. Yes, it's a nebulous line somewhere around 12 mos.

The commercial term for baby in the US (per StrideRite and Carters) is up until 24 months and the same for the various library storytimes in my area (babies 0-24 months). Toddlers are 2-3 years and preschool 3.5-5 years (per libraries).
Here is a interesting fact, humans are animals, primates, and in zooological terms an infant is one who does not yet have their permanat molars, so per humans that is likely 6+ years.
Overall, it is open to interpretation.
