We're celebrating DD's 2nd birthday on Easter this year and want to do an Easter egg hunt.  What are some toddler-friendly things to put in the eggs?  I'd love to have a food treat, but I'm obviously not going to put the M&M's or Hershey Kisses of my youth...

You can mold rice crispy treats into the plastic eggs (so when they open them they get a rice crispy treat shaped like an easter egg).  If you can fit them, bunny crackers would be fun and you can get individually wrapped bags of those (same with bunny graham crackers) or rolled up fruit leathers.  If you are going to do non-food (and if the kids aren't "mouthy" and apt to choke on them) little animal figures are fun (my almost 2 y/o loves small animal figures--the kind that come in the plastic tubes).

Nilla Wafers type cookies, stickers featuring favorite things [dogs and trains here], grapes or berries maybe unless that seems too messy, crayons if they fit, blobs of playdough.

The big hit last year was pre-filled play doh brand eggs, a few eggs had chocolate covered raisens and cherries, cheddar bunnies, stickers,  and pirate booty.

Sort of on the expensive side, but these were a huge hit with my (then) 1.5 year old last year:  http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-DUPLO-World-People-Set/dp/B000N3QAT4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331102173&sr=8-1
