I started a similar thread a couple weeks ago and actually what helped me the most is a book called The No Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers and Preschoolers. http://www.amazon.com/No-Cry-Sleep-Solution-Toddlers-Preschoolers/dp/0071444912/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358183470&sr=8-1&keywords=no+cry+sleep+solution+for+toddlers

We have been implementing many of her suggestions for a couple weeks now and it has made a huge difference! We have had a few rough evenings / setbacks....but that is natural and it takes up to a month for a new habit or routine to really catch on. But I was amazed how quickly it helped. It also helped my inner attitude because it's a very positive, reassuring book.

Best of luck! Sleep troubles are very normal at this age.
